At the European Improv Championships in Munich, 18 acting teams from Europe compete against each other. Organizer Karin Ertl explains what this art form has to do with football, real life and magic.
Karin Ertl, 50, founded the Improv European Championships together with her colleague Tobias Zettelmeier. An improvisation theater series that is intended to warm up for the European Football Championship. Two halves of 45 minutes each will be played on various stages in Munich on artificial turf. Ertl is a trained actress and has been passing on her knowledge to Munich schools since 2013 with “Impro macht Schule”. She is also a football fan. You can’t avoid football here, says the Munich native. During Euro 24 she will be seen in the official mascot costume of Albärt.
