Suppose Dr. Bob would now be called Dr. John. Inconceivably! The “Versace Hotel” familiar from the jungle camp now has a new name.
This news is probably as digestible as a turkey testicle for hardcore jungle fans. Shortly before the start of the 17th season of the successful format (from Friday, January 19th, daily on RTL or at any time on RTL+), the station informs you about an unexpected name change. The name of the legendary “Versace Hotel” is history! Instead, fans of daily filmed cabin fever will have to get used to a real tongue twister starting this season. Or not?
It belonged to the jungle camp family like Sonja Zietlow (55) and Dr. Bob (73), like cockroaches in his esophagus and private confessions around the campfire: the “Versace Hotel”, whose official name was “Palazzo Versace”. Since the first season in 2004, the candidates of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” there with their companions. The jungle adventure has started here for 20 years. Here the celebrities have to be shouted out of their beds by elite soldiers from the Australian Defense Force. And here, too, a lot of drama and a lot of hijinks have ensued.
Over, over, over! Jungle fans have to be strong now RTL titles its report. The hotel will now have a different name. From this season onwards, the official name of the “5-star hotel” is “Imperial Hotel Gold Coast”.
“How unsexy is that?”
Just imagine: Dr. Bob would be greeted by Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen (40) from January 19th with a loud “And here comes Dr. John!” asked to accompany the jungle test. And the TV jungle would no longer be in Australia, but in Hürth. Unimaginable, right? For Julian FM Stoeckel (36), jungle inmate in 2014, that’s probably it. According to the article, the jungle fan and expert commented on Facebook: “The ‘Palazzo Versace’ is no longer called Versace, but ‘Imperial Hotel Gold Coast’ – how unsexy is that?” A glimmer of hope remains. Because Sonja, Jan and their team of authors are also known for a pinch of anarchy. And the first Versace gags are definitely in the works, bet?
