Ilse Aigner is on the ballot paper in the district of Ebersberg – Ebersberg

If you go to the hairdresser in the southern district, it can happen that Ilse Aigner is sitting in the chair next door. On summer days, the 57-year-old likes to cool down in the Steinsee together with her colleague, Grafinger CSU member of parliament Thomas Huber. And as a passionate cyclist, a number of tours also take her from her home in Feldkirchen-Westerham through the beautiful Ebersberg district. So there is a certain bond between the President of the Landtag and the district. But that’s not the reason why she’s standing as a second-vote candidate for the state parliament here next year: “We’re pooling our strengths,” explains Thomas Huber. It is not only about supporting the Upper Bavarian top candidate as best as possible, but also collecting as many votes as possible for the CSU. Ultimately, according to Huber, the election will be “a huge challenge”.

The CSU district board announced the decision to run with Aigner as a list candidate in a press release on Friday. The candidate for the second vote in the district elections has now been determined: District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß. His candidacy is a “clear signal that the district administrators should also have a strong voice in the district council due to the many challenges in the districts,” says the press release. Thomas Huber and Valentina Dahms had already been nominated as direct candidates for the state parliament and district parliament at the district delegates’ meeting in September.

Theoretically, the district association could have nominated its own list candidate for the state parliament. Of course, the chances that this will result in another mandate are rather slim, as Huber explains: Only Jürgen Vocke and Otto Freiherr von Feury have so far managed to enter the state parliament via the list in the Ebersberg district. As an alternative to its own applicant, a district association can also support someone who is already on the list. This time they decided to go this route; also to contribute to a very good result for the CSU. He hopes that Ilse Aigner will continue to be a “strong colleague in the Bavarian state parliament and an outstanding president of the state parliament who works on an equal footing with the prime minister,” said Huber.
