Illegal school near Erlangen: connections in the Reich citizen scene – Bavaria

The protection of the constitution sees connections to the Reich citizen scene in the school project closed by the authorities on a property near Erlangen. It’s about a “single-digit number of people,” said the Bavarian State Office for the Protection of the Constitution on Thursday. They were “several times in the past with various letters and verbal statements in the typical Reich citizen style.” Previously they had Nuremberg News reported about it. According to the information, it was initially unclear how many of those involved in the school project adhere to the ideology. It is still being examined whether the Reich citizen ideology was also a topic in “school operations”.

The authorities became aware of what was happening on the property near Erlangen-Eltersdorf last fall. During a search two weeks ago, they found 15 school-age children and young people. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution had already known about the Reich citizenship benefits.

Because it was assumed that people from the Reich citizen scene were likely to be met, according to the city of Erlangen, special forces from the support command (USK) Mittelfranken were called in “particularly for their own security”. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, citizens of the Reich are often very aggressive towards public officials and sometimes use violence.

With a view to Erlangen, the Bavarian Office for the Protection of the Constitution announced: “So far, no reference to violence has been identified.” The Reich citizen scene is heterogeneous. They agree that they reject the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany and its legal system. According to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, there are no recognizable connections to supra-regional structures among those involved in Erlangen.
