Ile-de-France wants an express coach network by 2030

The car could still lose space in Île-de-France. This Thursday, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) announced that it is working on the creation of around fifty express coach lines on the region’s main roads by 2030, making it possible to “offer a credible and efficient in car use.

Mandated by the president of IDFM, Valérie Pécresse, the president of the Essonne departmental council François Durovray proposes lines supplementing the “mass transit” network (RER, trains, metros) to connect the major centers of the region. , as well as radials using motorways towards the heart of the metropolis.

Dedicated lanes and adapted connections

François Durovray wants fast, frequent, comfortable and easily identifiable coaches “to allow useful and no longer sudden travel time”. He also remarks that if express buses already exist, they are not really so in reality: to be fast, these express coaches must have dedicated lanes, stop little on the way and rely on poles of correspondence specially arranged in large crown.

“The objective of the future express coach network is to reach users, those in the Ile-de-France region furthest from public transport, those who combine the longest journeys on a daily basis, who have no other alternative than the car. “And are worried about the future low emission zone (ZFE) of Greater Paris, described the elected official.

The total cost is estimated at one billion euros in ten years, more than half of the sum going to the creation of reserved lanes on the motorways and expressways in the Ile-de-France region.

François Durovray must propose in the fall the lines to put forward in the master plan, which Valérie Pécresse wishes to include in the State-region plan contract (CPER) which she must soon negotiate with the government.
