Ice Hockey – Third EHC Win in a Row – Sport

An accurate performance in the final third gave EHC Red Bull Munich its third consecutive victory in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). At the Iserlohn Roosters, the team of DEL record coach Don Jackson was trailing 1-0 for a long time because Andreas Jenike played a great game in the Roosters goal. With four goals in the final third, the EHC still won 4:1.

EHC captain Patrick Hager had already warned after the first third, in which none of the 17 Munich shots on goal found their way into the Roosters box, but Iserlohn’s Chris Brown had put the hosts ahead in the second minute, that patience was needed. Hager (9th) and Frederik Tiffels (13th) hit the post just wide of the redeeming goal. Tiffels finally managed to do this (45′) and only 52 seconds later Yasin Ehliz scored the pre-decisive 2:1 (46′) after a nice pass from Maximilian Daubner. Austin Ortega (57th, outnumbered) and Philipp Krening with his first DEL goal (60th, empty goal) rounded off the victory. “As soon as a goal is scored, the others will come somehow,” Ehliz said at Magentasport about the Munich goals, for which Jackson and Co. had had to wait a long time. On Wednesday, the EHC expects the champions of the past two years, the Eisbären Berlin.
