National ice hockey goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer and the Seattle Kraken are only one win away from entering the playoff quarterfinals of the North American professional league NHL for the first time.

At defending champions Colorado Avalanche, the Kraken won 3-2 and lead the best-of-seven streak with 3-2 wins. The 31-year-old Grubauer, who played for Colorado between 2018 and 2021, saved 26 of the 28 shots on his goal. On Friday evening (local time), Seattle can qualify for the next round perfectly in front of their own audience.

The Boston Bruins, meanwhile, missed their first opportunity to advance to the next round. The regular-season best team lost at home to the Florida Panthers 4-3 in overtime. Still, Boston continues to lead the series 3-2 on wins.
