The Edmonton Oilers celebrate an important victory over the Dallas Stars in the NHL playoffs. Leon Draisaitl also played a part in this.

The Edmonton Oilers and Leon Draisaitl celebrated a successful start to the Conference Finals of the North American professional ice hockey league NHL. The team around the German superstar won 3-2 away against the favored Dallas Stars in the second overtime.

Draisaitl put the Oilers in the lead at the start of the second period. It was his 25th point (9 goals, 16 assists) in the 13th playoff game this season. After Zach Hyman made it 2-0, the Oilers – as they have done so often this season – squandered a lead and conceded the 2-2 a few minutes before the end of the game. Tyler Seguin scored both goals for the Stars. But Edmonton showed morale and could rely on its other superstar. Connor McDavid scored the decisive goal 32 seconds after the start of the second overtime.

The series continues with the next home game for the Dallas Stars on Saturday (local time). A total of four wins are necessary to reach the NHL finals.
