Draisaitl loses German duel in NHL with Peterka

There are two duels between German national players in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL. Even a goal in the penalty shootout doesn’t help the top star.

JJ Peterka has the duel between two Germans National ice hockey player in the NHL with superstar Leon Draisaitl. With the Buffalo Sabers, Peterka beat Draisaitl’s Edmonton Oilers 3-2 (1-2, 0-0, 1-0) after a penalty shootout.

Peterka remained without a goal, Draisaitl set up Ryan McLeod to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead after just 29 seconds. In the penalty shootout, the German attacker was the only Oilers player to score a goal. The Oilers got one point and remain on course for the playoffs in the Western Conference, while the Sabers are seven points behind the last wildcard spot despite the win in the Eastern Conference.

The Detroit Red Wings around Moritz Seider are currently taking it. The Red Wings kept up well with the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights, but ultimately lost 3:5 (1:2, 0:0, 2:3). The guests conceded two goals in the last three minutes. Seider was involved in two of Detroit’s goals.

In Nico Sturm and Tim Stützle, two German NHL professionals were on the ice in another game. Sturm and the San Jose Sharks won 2-1 (1-0, 1-1, 0-0) against Stützle’s Ottawa Senators . Stützle scored Ottawa’s only goal, meaning the 22-year-old striker has scored 15 times this season. The Sharks and Senators remain second to last in their conferences.
