The top nations are for the German women’s teamIce hockey team clearly too strong at the Germany Cup.

The DEB team clearly lost 0:8 (0:3, 0:1, 0:4) against the Czech Republic, who came third in the World Cup, in Landshut and finished the first edition of the tournament, which was held for men for the first time, in third place. The Czech Republic won the Germany Cup with three wins ahead of Finland. Denmark came fourth.

Almost 17 hours after the clear 1:8 against Finland, coach Jeff MacLeod’s players initially showed improvement in front of 3,007 spectators. “It will be a different game,” announced goal scorer Theresa Wagner. Nevertheless, the Czechs scored three goals in the first third against Germany’s top goalkeeper Sandra Abstreiter.

In the second half, the German selection was equal at times, but missed a goal despite good opportunities. The favorites, on the other hand, were ice cold and scored two goals shortly before and after the second period break to make it a clear 0:5.

The MacLeod team never recovered from this double blow, on the contrary. The favorite continued to enjoy the game. Three more successes from the Czechs made the final score 0:8 perfect.
