Some may encounter him on the slopes, others on public transport. From this Saturday 23 and until Friday December 29, Tim Hoepfner will explore six ski resorts in the Alps. In order: La Rosière, Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Méribel and finally Les Ménuires. Special feature of the route: the 22-year-old young man will only use public transport to connect them. This is the objective of his project entitled “I will ski at your place”, where he intends to prove that the practice of winter sport can be more ecological.
“Between Les Arcs and La Plagne, there is only one gondola to take,” smiles the student with a degree in Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities (Staps) in Strasbourg. From the Alsatian capital, he planned to arrive in Bourg-Saint-Maurice by train. “Afterwards it’s very simple, I just have to get on a shuttle to La Rosière. »
The adventure can then begin. Anyone who is planning a career as a teacher has carefully prepared for it with the local tourist offices. “But that won’t stop me from saying if things aren’t going well, I’ve been very clear with them,” insists the student, who had just carried out a study last year “on the present transport infrastructures or not in the stations.”
“I realized that many things are not yet available or not used enough. This is what gave me the idea for this project,” he continues, who will therefore film his adventures. On his Instagram account for daily stories but also with a view to an accessible mini Web series on Youtube from January 1st. He will talk about shuttle, bus, train but not only that. Quite simply because Tim Hoepfner will also have to find a place to sleep every evening.

“I’m ready to do the washing, to work, it’s give and take,” he insists. “The goal is really to interact with people and in the discussion, to show them that it is possible not to come by car to go skiing. It would do everyone good! The air would be more breathable, the snow better quality. Plus, on site, we don’t need it at all and parking is super expensive! »
After the Alps this year, the Strasbourg resident plans to bring the same message to another massif that he knows well, the neighboring Vosges. “Maybe,” he anticipates, for the moment focused on the first project. It doesn’t matter if it takes place during the holidays. “I’ve always been used to going away during this period, it’s so cool, I can’t wait!” »
