“I was hurt to be eliminated unanimously”, laments Emin

He is the first eliminated from the red team, the Tinagos, but when it comes time to return for 20 minutes on his adventure, Emin has nothing but gratitude in his mouth. While the second episode of Koh-Lanta, the sacred fire was broadcast this Tuesday on TF1, the 56-year-old Belgian has a thought for his loved ones. “My son trained me, made me run. My wife was always positive telling me that I was going to get there. My daughter also always encouraged me. I have to thank them. “It must be said that the fifties tried for twenty years to integrate the cast of the show. For him, his participation is like a small victory.

You wanted to participate in “Koh-Lanta” for twenty years. Leaving after your team’s first council shattered your dream?

No, I lived part of my dream. I had the chance to be chosen among 40,000 people so I will certainly not hide my pleasure. I only remember the positive. Obviously, I was the first eliminated from my team, but that’s part of the game. I would have liked to continue and show skills that I haven’t shown yet. I didn’t know how to do it.

All other members of your team voted against you. Did you expect it?

It made me feel weird. Things had gone well with the reds, so I was hurt by this unanimity against me. If my teammates knew that they were all going to vote against me, they could have managed to put another name on one or two ballots, to make it less violent. They didn’t, it hurt me, I’m not hiding it from you.

You were the dean of the reds…

In the beginning, you have to find an excuse to eliminate someone. There, their argument was that I was the oldest and the least athletic. Alexandre had a strategy in place with other adventurers and assured me that he wanted me to stay. They turned around.

You had found a secret weapon, which gave you a double vote. It was not possible to rally teammates towards your strategy?

Alexandre told me that he didn’t want to eliminate the old people and that Anne-Sophie, Elodie, Julie and Esteban wanted to vote against Elisa. They told me that they were going to pretend to want to vote against me, that people shouldn’t see me arguing with them too much. They turned their jackets around. Before the council, Alex avoided me with his gaze, I went to see him and he told me that I was alone against everyone. I tried to find a solution to hang on to the branches.

That’s to say ?

I tried to get a few votes against Christine to do 50/50 and go to the draw, it didn’t work. I went to see Rudy who told me that there might be votes against Helena and Elodie. But it was very difficult to rally adventurers to me. I understand Rudy told Elodie that if she didn’t vote against me, she would be the one jumping. I didn’t know he had so much influence. He lobbied a lot against me. But he is not the only one. I could have tried to bluff by saying that I had found a necklace, but I was so tired because I had spent more than ten hours looking for it, that I had no clear ideas.

If you could, what would you do differently?

I would train more physically. I did not expect to see such seriously prepared people. And, when you’re there, you have to talk to everyone, always be alert to the strategies, which I didn’t do enough.
