Peter Gabriel is a British musician, singer and songwriter. He is both a solo artist and an early member of the band genesis known. He co-founded the band, but his costumes (flower! old man! mythical creatures!) were often too much of a mummery for his bandmate Phil Collins. In 1975, Gabriel left Genesis because he felt creatively suppressed by Collins, after which the drummer and new singer steered the band towards the stadium. And Gabriel started his very successful solo musical venture: a win-win situation. He is now 73 years old.
