The German Movie “I am your person” von Maria Schrader has taken the next hurdle in the Oscar race. The futuristic tragic comedy is on the shortlist with a total of 15 candidates, as announced by the Oscar Academy in Beverly Hills. Entries from 93 countries applied for the Oscar in the “International Feature Film” category for 2022. “Ich bin dein Mensch” was selected in mid-September by German Films, the foreign agency of German film, for the German Oscar application. Maren Eggert plays a scientist who is supposed to test a humanoid robot (Dan Stevens) as a partner. The film is currently in the ARD media library to see.
The pre-selected shortlist candidates in the “International Feature Film” category include “Große Freiheit” (Austria), “Drive my Car” (Japan), “The Hand of God” (Italy), “Compartment No 6 “(Finland),” Flee “(Denmark) and” A Hero “(Iran). The acclaimed French film “Titans”, who won the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year, is surprisingly not on the list.
