Hunting dogs targeted by shots from a local resident during a hunt

A new hunting incident took place on Sunday on the sidelines of a deer hunt in Coatascorn, a small town located between Lannion and Guingamp (Côtes-d’Armor). Dogs participating in the hunt were targeted by shots from a local resident.
According to West France, the owner of a private land allegedly injured one of the animals by repeatedly firing a rifle. The hunters alerted the gendarmes.

The author of the shots contacted the daily, to explain his gesture which he describes as “disproportionate, thoughtless and unjustifiable”. The latter explained that it was the fourth time this year that hunters or their dogs have ventured on the land he had bought a year and a half ago. The former owner of the estate had allowed hunters to come into the property, which is not fenced. The new buyer opposed it, explaining “refusing that we come to kill animals” on his land. The mayor of the town called for calm.
