An 86-year-old was found dead in his house in Huglfing, Upper Bavaria, after a fire broke out there and went out by itself. The man, who lived alone in the Weilheim-Schongau district, probably died on Thursday of smoke gas poisoning, the police said. She estimated the damage to the house at 30,000 euros. There were no indications of arson or outside interference, said a police spokesman. The cause of the fire was unclear.
