HSV leaves points against feared opponent Holstein Kiel again | NDR.de – Sport

Hamburger SV simply cannot win against Holstein Kiel. On Saturday evening there was a 1: 1 (1: 0) in the north duel after an early HSV leadership.

by Florian Neuhauss

Apparently it’s true in the HSV team. In any case, Sonny Kittel set a sign after his converted penalty in the 12th minute to lead 1-0. The offensive man ran to the sideline after the hit, got the jersey of the injured Tim Leibold and stretched it into the Hamburg evening sky. After a cruciate ligament rupture, the hamburgers will miss Leibold for months. Leibold was there for the jubilation.

However, the Hamburgers, who have not yet won against Kiel in the second division, simply do not really get going in terms of sport. The draw against Kiel was the ninth league game without defeat in a row, but also the sixth draw in this period. Holstein also knows a thing or two about dividing points. Three times in a row it was already 1: 1 under the new coach Marcel Rapp. While the HSV failed to take advantage of the mistakes of the competition, the “storks” are on the relegation rank.

Bartels: “A draw in the Volkspark is okay”

Holstein’s leader Fin Bartels said: “If you get a draw in the Volkspark, that’s okay. And when it comes to performance, we’re on the right track. But a threesome like that has to fall now.”

“It is extremely bitter that we did not keep the zero,” said HSV defender Moritz Heyer. That must be the goal if you don’t create so many opportunities for yourself. “It could have turned in the other direction very quickly. We just wouldn’t have deserved a win today.”

HSV doesn’t make enough of its superiority

The Schleswig-Holsteiners caused the first excitement in front of 39,543 spectators in the Volksparkstadion. Steven Skrzybski found Benedikt Pichler with his pass, and the striker pulled from an acute angle. The ball hit the outside post, but goalkeeper Marko Johansson, who was replacing Daniel Heuer Fernandes, who was also injured, would have been there (7th).

The home side was visibly good at the lead. Faride Alidou, who had taken the penalty, and Bakery Jatta formed an arrow-fast wing tong with which the “storks” could barely keep up. After another foul on Alidou, Kittel shot a free kick just wide (29th). Hamburg’s only problem: center forward Robert Glatzel, Hamburg’s top scorer, hardly ever got the ball.

As a result, Kiel held itself harmless and repeatedly put needle sticks. After 41 minutes, Johansson prevented the equalizer with a strong save. After a counterattack, Bartels was free in front of the HSV goal, but as in the cup (1: 5 at TSG Hoffenheim) the veteran didn’t know how to use his chance.

Kiel shocks Hamburg with a lightning start in half two

For this, Bartels shone as a preparer shortly after the restart. Pichler found his sharp pass into the middle on the sixteenth. The attacker took the ball with one touch and then chased it through Johansson’s legs to make it 1-1 into the net (46th).

The HSV responded with furious attacks – but too often it went with the head through the wall. So the Kiel drove some dangerous counterattacks, but they made far too little of them. The game was now very intense, however, it often went back and forth at high speed. Mikkel Kaufmann, who had been substituted for Jatta five minutes earlier, had a great opportunity to bring the home side back into the lead after an hour. The 20-year-old Dane missed the goal.

As a result, the highlights became rarer. Fiete Arp of all people had the best chance in the final phase. Kiel’s Joker, who played at HSV until 2019, tested Johansson with his first touch of the ball, who reacted strongly (71st). Otherwise the teams lost each other noticeably in duels. There were three yellow cards within five minutes. The HSV bit its teeth on Holstein’s cover in the final minutes. Another ex-Hamburger had the last chance in Kiel’s Lewis Holtby. But his shot went over it – and it remained at the performance-based 1: 1.
