The students then completed the “Narcissistic Personality Inventory”, a psychological test specializing in narcissistic personality traits. This extraordinary test determines the strength and expression a narcissistic trait. The Canadian scientists then presented the participants with the photos of the other subjects; they asked to be assessed the presumed level of narcissistic traits. dr Miranda Giacom and Dr. Nicholas Rule observed that the majority of respondents when looking at the photos on the eyebrow part of the person concentrating on the evaluating person. After evaluating the psychological test and the assessment of the subjects, the scientists found that those who based their assessment on the area around the eyes and the shape of the eyebrows were often correct with regard to narcissistic character traits. In the third part of the study, Dr. Miranda Giacom and Dr. Nicholas Rule, the students reviewed the photos again, but covered the eye area here. The participants were unsettled and could not make any statement about a possible narcissistic expression.

dr Miranda Giacom and Dr. Nicholas Rule then brought together the results of the “Narcissistic Personality Inventory” and those of the assessed photos and came to this surprising conclusion: In fact, the subjects with prominent eyebrows tended to be more narcissistic than those who had less prominent brows. “There is a connection between external features and personality traits,” the psychologists assessed their experiment, but pointed out that it does not necessarily mean that people with prominent eyebrows actually have narcissistic traits.
