Switzerland is a small industrial country. Their direct share of global CO2 emissions is not insignificant, but manageable: 0.1 percent it was in 2020. Like the other signatory states to the Paris climate agreement, Berne has also committed to halving its emissions between 1990 and 2030, and by 2050 Switzerland wants to achieve the net-zero target.
