How Putin stole his youth: A teenager from Ukraine – Bavaria

First pandemic, now war. Life was just beginning for 16-year-old Ukrainian Egor Klekha. Band, beer, first love and other silly ideas. But now he’s in Fischbachau, where he never wanted to go.

It is a Monday of all days when Egor Klekha wants to get back a piece of what Vladimir Putin stole from him. A piece of youth. Eight o’clock, the morning gong shoos the students to their seats. Giggles die down, someone frantically hands a Rubik’s Cube back as the teacher clears his throat. Two new ones are sitting this Monday in 9b at the Fischbachau middle school, each for themselves. The girl in the first row has been expelled from high school, the boy in the last row from home.
