How Paris can qualify for the round of 16 of the Champions League

We can have lost two group matches out of four, at Newcastle (4-1) then at Milan (2-1), and still manage to qualify for the round of 16 of the Champions League on the penultimate day. Paris Saint-Germain is a shining example. Second in group F with 6 points, behind Borussia Dortmund (7) but ahead of AC Milan (5) and Newcastle (4), the French champion will take a good option if he beats the English team this Tuesday evening at Princes Park.

It will even qualify if this victory is combined at the same time with a draw or a defeat for the Italian team at San Siro against the German club. PSG would then play a duel for first place in Dortmund on December 13, during the final group day.

A success, and it’s at least the Europa League

A victory against Newcastle, whatever the result at San Siro, will at least guarantee Paris a place in the Europa League play-offs, where the 3rd group of C1 will meet the 2nd group of C3 in a false round of 16. Not really what the capital club is aiming for…Two defeats against Newcastle then Dortmund would eliminate PSG.
