How money is wasted unnecessarily in Grafing – Ebersberg

Thorsten Rienth, Grafing

Whether Grafinger city councilors would like to call in sick on January 17th remains their secret. At least they had a motive. On that day, the Grafinger finance committee meets to draw up the municipal budget. In the notoriously clammy Grafing, the evening is one of the unpleasant meetings: Not much can be taken from the reserves. But because all sorts of major projects are running, the debt level will swell to around 15.6 million euros by the end of 2025 according to the current financial plan. Roughly speaking, this corresponds to a doubling of the level of a year ago. Saving is right and important, so the warnings should be heard in turn that evening. Couldn’t we really separate the necessary from the unnecessary right now?
