How Miss Guyana lost the game by a hair’s breadth

The suitcases, the watches, the car, the free makeup for a year, will only remain a sweet dream, that of an evening even, for Miss Guyana, Audrey Ho-Wen-Tsaï. However, this first runner-up almost won the famous Miss France 2024 beauty contest on Saturday evening, by one vote, reports the information site TF1 Info.

When the last five candidates still in the running were named, all you had to do was go to social networks to see the many supporters the Guyanese had. In vain… In Guyana, it was Nord-Pas-de-Calais that the competition jury preferred, at this time of the evening. The Miss du Nord, Eve Gilles, followed closely by Miss Languedoc and even Miss Normandie who came tied with Miss Ile-de-France in third position.

Public and jury not at all of the same opinion

A very different choice therefore from that of the public which, according to the results grid ensures TF1 had Miss Guyana, Audrey Ho-Wen-Tsaï, at the top of the votes. To be more precise, in the first round (that is to say the passage from 15 candidates to the five finalists) recalls the information site, the public had therefore put Miss Guyana in first position, followed by Miss Guadeloupe, Miss North -Pas-de-Calais closing the podium.

In the second round, the jury and the public still did not agree and it was Miss Guyana who was still the public’s favorite, followed by Miss Guadeloupe then Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Unlike the entirely female jury, which once again renewed its favor for Eve Gilles, ahead of Miss Provence, tied with Miss Languedoc, placing Miss Guyana in only fourth position. A final position which costs Miss Guyana a point in the ranking, and much more… her dream of the crown.
