If German cultural politicians can’t sleep at night, it’s probably because they’ve been tormented by this thought for years: “Damn it, I didn’t have the courage to reform the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation again!” Ex-Minister of State for Culture Monika Grütters wanted to tackle the reform, but postponed it until she ran out of time. Her successor Claudia Roth wanted to start immediately. Then the Documenta and the anti-Semitism debate got in the way. And another year has passed.
