Margot Robbie’s most famous role wasn’t actually one at all. In 2015, Adam McKay directed his film The Big Short, about how bad housing loans triggered the 2008 financial crisis. But because most viewers’ attention wanders as soon as buzzwords like “subprime” or “shorten” are mentioned, McKay quickly put Margot Robbie (who doesn’t appear in the rest of the film) in a bubble bath. There she briefly and wittily explains the basic terms that you need to understand in order to be able to follow “The Big Short”. The scene became the most famous of the whole film – it takes charisma to do that.
