When Serge Dorny announced the first premiere of the 2024/25 season at the public season presentation in the National Theater, a pleasant murmur went through the audience. A new “Ring” is planned, sparklingly cast and artistically in the best hands with director Tobias scratch and GMD Vladimir Jurowski. It is supposed to end with “Twilight of the Gods” in 2027. And here lies the crux. Because Serge Dorny’s contract in Munich – like that of Vladimir Jurowski and ballet director Laurent Hilaire – expires in 2026. The Ministry of Art is currently remaining silent about a potential extension.
