Failure to comply with the Highway Code can have serious consequences. A woman involved in drug trafficking has experienced this in recent days in Toulouse. Last January, while driving on the Launaguet road, this driver was arrested by the specialized field brigade (BST) because she did not put on her indicator to turn. When she opens her window, the well-trained nosed police inhale the smell of cannabis.
While searching the vehicle, they discover grass under his radio and in his purse. And when they search his home, they find a few grams of weed, resin, cocaine and the dealers’ bagging kit. During her hearing, the young woman explains that she is a simple “delivery girl”. She is left free, but not unsupervised.
Several kilos of drugs and 29,000 euros seized
The “narcotics and underground economy” unit of urban security indeed smells that it belongs to a much larger network. As part of a preliminary investigation, wiretaps and beacons are carried out. And quickly, the investigators are put on the track of seven other people. On March 20, they were all arrested in the north of Toulouse and the agglomeration. At their homes, the police will seize no less than 11 kg of herbal cannabis, 1 kg of resin, 400 g of cocaine, 400 tablets of synthetic drugs, ecstasy and some 29,000 euros in cash .
The young woman is again placed in police custody and the eight members of this network, aged 26 to 37, are brought before the prosecution. Four must be tried in immediate appearance and the other four are summoned to court to be tried later.
