Interview by

David Steinitz

Can the Second World War be prevented? In autumn 1938, Europe was on the brink of escalation, and Adolf Hitler plans to invade Czechoslovakia. In Munich there is a short-term emergency conference between Germany, France, Italy and Great Britain. The British writer Robert Harris wrote the novel “Munich” about this true incident, in which two young diplomats and friends, an Englishman and a German, want to prevent the worst. Now his bestseller thriller has been filmed by German director Christian Schwochow. The drama will be in cinemas from January 6th and on Netflix from January 21st. The British actor Jeremy Irons plays the English Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, his German colleague Ulrich Matthes plays Adolf Hitler.
