How climate change has made our weather more extreme – knowledge

Around the world, unusually intense heat waves have caused people to sweat at this time of year. In Europe, the USA and now also in Japan numerous temperature records have recently been broken. A new June record of 41.9 degrees Celsius was broken in Cazaux, France, and temperatures in Tokyo climbed to more than 35 degrees for three days in a row. As every time the weather changes, the question arises as to whether climate change had a hand in it. “We can now say with absolute certainty that every heat wave has been made stronger and more likely by climate change,” says climate researcher Friederike Otto of Imperial College London.
