Horizon Forbidden West – A pinch of daring, more boom (quests solved) • Eurogamer.de

In Horizon Forbidden West, quests and contracts are distinguished. Why? Nobody really knows, because the orders are basically small quests where someone sends you to usually find something or someone. These quests are a bit simpler in Horizon Forbidden West, and it’s usually a short trip from point A to point B and back. Nevertheless, often enough it’s worth it for the experience points alone.

Chain Wreath quest – A Pinch of Daring (Level 5)

In the tavern in chain wreath you speak with the cook Milduf at the stove. He needs equipment – a pan – and ingredients. The latter is easy. Get out of town, run around, and if you see a wild boar, shoot it. Stick to rocky floors along the valley and collect any herbs you find and in no time you’ll have the three Bitter Herbs. Still missing the pan.

Milduf gives you temporary cooking bonuses, but only if you help him. (Horizon: Forbidden West)

To do this, go back to the gondola station in the east and just east of it is a larger group of graves and diggers. There are a lot of them, five or six, so use the tall grass to take them all down quietly, one at a time. One keeps watch above, high above the other, you mustn’t forget him and you should maybe even start with him. If you have then worked your way forward, you will see a digger who is tampering with a pile of scrap metal. You’ll find what you’re looking for in this heap of junk. Take it back to Chain Wreath to Milduf.

Quest Chain Ring – More Boom (Level 7)

You can find the quest at the southern end of Chain Wreath where two Oserams are crafting a Thunderstick, a new weapon. You can always use something like that, so she’s happy to help collect the right parts. That would be three striker horns and a tearing horn rib.

The two promise you new weapons, so they’re happy to help. (Horizon: Forbidden West)

You’ll find the charge horns just around the corner, because if you turn around and exit through the south chain wreath gate, you’ll have a herd of charges straight away. The trick is that you can’t just massacre the forwards like that, then the horns will be destroyed. Shoot the horns from a safe distance and tall grass, and they will fall off. You can collect them later once you’ve defeated the Strikers.

You can also find ripping horns near chain wreath – the other fire ripping horns that you otherwise have in the valley do not count. The area is just to the south-east past that bridge over there, in a meadow that is also patrolled by a few burrowers. You should do that first, then it’s the turn of the tearing horn. With that you have everything and go back to chain wreath to the two tinkerers. The troubles earned you the first spike launcher. Have fun with it!
