Honey drips from the wall – Brits find XXL beehive in their house

Watch the video: Honey drips from bedroom wall – Brits find huge beehive in their house.

Kate Dempsey from British Folkestone can hardly believe her eyes.

The 41-year-old finds a massive, abandoned beehive and gallons of honey – under the floor and in the walls of her home.

With each additional piece of wood she and her husband uncover, the extent of the insect dwelling becomes clearer.

The couple first became aware of the problem in their home when honey started leaking from a bedroom wall.

With no company willing to take on the problem, homeowners tackle the problem themselves.

The removal of the abandoned beehive takes a full four weeks – and is associated with an unpleasant side effect.

Because predatory bees become aware of the honey and start transporting it away.

However, with smoke to drive away the insects and thick protective clothing, the British finally manage to remove the robbers, the beehive and the honey.
