Homophobic tags discovered on the Villejean campus

It is amazement and dismay at Rennes 2 University where homophobic tags were discovered this Wednesday morning on the walls of several buildings on the Villejean campus. Alerted, the university services quickly erased the damage. “These attacks show that the fight against discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence is a battle to be waged relentlessly,” reacted the management of the university, which plans to file a complaint.

These homophobic acts come as Rennes 2 honors queer culture in January. This Wednesday afternoon, a photo exhibition by Chilean artist Zaida González Ríos, entitled Trans Tarotis to be inaugurated on campus.

Celtic crosses also tagged

“During this month of queer culture in our establishment, Rennes 2 University reaffirms its support for the LGBTQI + community and its commitment to promoting equality, inclusion and diversity”, continues the management of the university.

According to Union Pirate, the majority student union in Rennes, Celtic crosses were also drawn during the night on the walls of the campus and a fresco representing the black writer Toni Morrison vandalized.
