Homo sapiens needed three attempts to Europe – knowledge

Stone tools indicate that Homo sapiens once migrated to Europe in multiple waves. It was only on his third attempt that he managed to gain a permanent foothold.

The end is well known: Coming from Africa, the homo sapiens eventually colonized all continents of the world. A little over 40,000 years ago, he also tried his luck in Europe. His cousin, the Neanderthal, lived there until then. But the anatomically modern human prevailed. And after a few millennia, the triumph of the homo sapiens accomplished, he was the only remaining human species in the world: the Neanderthals had disappeared.
