Homeless artists: The Botanikum in Moosach is being demolished – Munich

There is something unique that is disappearing here with the Botanikum in Moosach. Everyone actually agrees on that. A special symbiosis of art and nature has developed here over almost 40 years. The lots of greenery, the slightly decadent charm, the cheap rents, the bright daylight, which was essential for the work of the photographer Wolf-Dieter Böttcher. Good. In other greenhouses it was too hot in midsummer. As the painter Gudrun Michel explains, the studio could hardly be used. But she also raves about the charm and flair. Rosina Zimmermann says: “We had a lot of opportunities here, a community.” And now? Should this all be over on September 30th? Then there will be no more water, no more electricity.
