A man died in an accident at a fair in the Gütersloh district. The 39-year-old fell more than ten meters from a ride. The festival will still continue.

The accident happened on the Pollhansmarkt in the town of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. The 39-year-old fell from the “Fuzzy’s Lachsaloon” attraction from a height of ten to twelve meters, said a spokeswoman for the Gütersloh police.

It was initially assumed that the victim, who came from Hanover, was a visitor. But it could also have been an employee; there are contradictory statements about this, the police said in the evening.

According to the operator, the “largest transportable funhouse in the world” consists of five floors on which visitors have to overcome various obstacles. At the end of the obstacle course there is a free fall tower about ten meters high, according to the police.
