Alice Cooper and his Hollywood Vampires may have dedicated themselves to the undead, but they too know: Rock ‘n’ roll’s days are numbered. So their show in Hamburg turned into an atmospheric tribute to old companions. Of course it was fun too.
“Johnny, I want a child from you!” rang out from the ranks of the fans at the barrier when Johnny Depp made his way from the stage in Hamburg’s Stadtpark to one of the numerous tour buses shortly after the show. The Hollywood Vampires concert has just ended to the applause of around 4,000 spectators, the scenery as old as rock itself. Cheering fans, the faint hope of a look, an autograph, a touch. So everything as usual? Not quite.
