Brad Pitt is the star of a new film about Formula 1. The actors and writers’ strike in Hollywood delayed filming last year. Now let’s move on.

Oscar winner Brad Pitt (60, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) is getting reinforcements for its racing driver film, which is currently being filmed. British actress Sarah Niles (36), known from the award-winning comedy series “Ted Lasso”, joins the cast, Apple Studios announced.

The cast includes Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Damson Idris and Kerry Condon. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”). Pitt and Kosinski are also on board as producers, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.

The still untitled film revolves around a veteran racing driver (Pitt) who returns from retirement to compete against the Formula 1 elite together with a young driver (Idris). “Top Gun: Maverick” author Ehren Kruger provides the script.

Filming began last July at the Silverstone race track in the UK, but then the months-long Hollywood strike by actors and screenwriters slowed production. This year, filming will take place again on well-known Formula 1 racing tracks.
