The basis for the planned thriller “Locked” is an Argentine crime film in which a thief is trapped in a car. The producer describes the film project as a “non-stop thrill”.

Two-time Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins (85, “The Silence of the Lambs”, “The Father”) wants to shoot a thriller remake together with “Top Gun: Maverick” actor Glen Powell (34).

“Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi is on board as a producer for the planned project “Locked”. He describes the story as “non-stop thrills”, with action, suspense and characters that are also meant to be touching, as the trade journal “Deadline.com” reported. According to Raimi (63), David Yarovesky (“Brightburn: Son of Darkness”, “Nightbooks”) will direct. Can’t wait to start filming, Yarovesky wrote on Instagram.

It is based on the Argentine crime film “4×4” by the director duo Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn (“The Best Film of All Time”, “The Nobel Prize Winner”). In it, a thief breaks into an expensive SUV car, which becomes a trap for him. Doors and windows close, he is trapped. The mysterious owner wants revenge on the crook and takes the law into his own hands.

Hopkins won his second Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of a proud, stubborn man in the dementia drama The Father in 2021. The role of the psychopathic killer Hannibal Lecter in “The Silence of the Lambs” brought the Briton his first Oscar in 1992. With the dramas “Armageddon Time” and “The Son” he was seen in two films last year in supporting roles.
