Full motorways and traffic jams expected next weekend
Only two federal states are missing, then all of Germany is in the summer holidays. That should also be noticeable on the freeways nationwide – especially in two directions, says the ADAC.
With the start of the summer holidays in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, there is a threat of the coming Weekend traffic jams and very crowded motorways. “With the exception of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, all of Germany is in the summer holidays,” said the ADAC on Monday. The automobile club expects the longest traffic jams for Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Friday (July 21) is the last day of school before the summer holidays in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
Drivers must expect particularly heavy traffic on the north-south axes to the North and Baltic Seas or in the direction of the Alps, including sections of the A3 (Frankfurt/Main-Passau), A5 (Hattenbacher Dreieck-Basel), A61 (Mönchengladbach-Ludwigshafen). ) and large parts of the A7 (Flensburg-Füssen/Reutte).
