Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn – Relief campaign for sick curve landlord – district of Munich

Everyone in Siegertsbrunn knows it. And also many far beyond. Fritz Maurer made the curve host flourish as a restaurateur. Now he needs help. Because he is suffering from leukemia for the second time. The volunteer fire brigade in Siegertsbrunn, the boys’ association and the community have now started an campaign to find a suitable stem cell donor. The main thing is to first get many people to participate in a stem cell registration campaign that will take place on Sunday, October 16, in the new fire station at Egmatinger Strasse 13a. A swab is taken from the cheek with a cotton swab. The campaign is supported by the non-profit DKMS GmbH in Tübingen, which maintains a large database and helps blood cancer patients worldwide.

Fritz Maurer took over the “Alten Wirt”, which is known locally as the curve host, ten years ago. He is open about his illness. This erupted for the first time two years ago. From October 2020 to August 2021 he endured tough chemotherapy including radiation, he says. He was then released as healthy. During this time, he led the company through the corona pandemic with great commitment, his family and his employees, all of whom he was able to keep. This summer, the leukemia disease broke out again.

According to a message from the town hall, the local concern is great. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 55 can register with the DKMS as a stem cell donor. On the day of the action, registration is possible from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a supporting program, it is said, for which other clubs have been won as committed supporters. The program will be announced in the coming days. At the same time, an online registration campaign is running under the link: www.dkms.de/fritzi.
