Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn queries interest in district heating – district of Munich

In order to achieve the goals as a climate protection community, no other instrument is better suited in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn than a heating network – ideally fed from deep geothermal energy. This recommendation comes from Herbert Palm’s energy use plan, which the head of the Institute for Sustainable Energy Systems at Munich University of Applied Sciences recently presented to the municipal council. Now the town hall wants to find out how big the acceptance of a local or district heating network is among the citizens. A survey of interests aimed at all building and apartment owners will run until October 15th.

Participation is possible via a questionnaire that will be distributed with the September issue of the parish bulletin or can be accessed via the parish website. This is a non-binding query, according to the town hall. “Participation does not result in any obligation to purchase heat.” Currently, Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is mainly heated with natural gas. According to information from the town hall, the construction of a local heating network would take four to five years, and that of a district heating network fed from deep geothermal energy even ten years. In his presentation, Herbert Palm put the cost of connecting around 30 percent of the location at between 18 and 27 million euros.
