Hofreiter is happy about Habeck’s Easter surprise – district of Munich

Toni Hofreiter, member of the Greens in the Bundestag from Unterhaching, is impressed by the measures to expand renewable energies decided on in Berlin on Wednesday. Economics Minister Robert Habeck has brought a legislative package through the cabinet that will greatly accelerate the expansion of renewable energies, Hofreiter praises his party colleague. “I am pleased that after years of languishing, the energy transition is finally picking up speed again,” says a press release from Hofreiter’s office.

The core of the “Easter Package” is the most comprehensive amendment to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) in the past 20 years. It includes higher expansion volumes and better financing options for wind and solar energy as well as more participation opportunities for the population and municipalities. With the catalog of measures from the Energy Agency Ebersberg-Munich, the municipal councils now have a very good basis for identifying further locations for wind turbines and photovoltaic ground-mounted systems. Prime Minister Söder, according to Hofreiter, must now give up his blockade with the 10-H rule for wind power. Because the Green-led Federal Ministries for Economics, Environment and Agriculture are pulling in the same direction, the expansion of renewables, nature conservation and species protection and agriculture will no longer stand in each other’s way in the future, but will be partners.
