After bodies were found on the Rhine dam: police are looking for baby and mother

A young Ukrainian woman was found dead near Hockenheim. She had sought protection in Germany. The police are now looking for the baby and the woman’s mother.
After a dead woman was found on the Rhine dam near Hockenheim, the woman’s identity has been clarified. It is a 27-year-old who was previously reported missing Police in Mannheim announced on Monday evening. According to current findings, the woman died as a result of external violence.
The 27-year-old is a Ukrainian refugee. In the previous days she had been traveling with her mother and her five-week-old daughter. Their whereabouts are currently unclear. A passer-by discovered the dead woman last Thursday on the Rhine dam near Hockenheim in the Rhein-Neckar district.
Deaths from Hockenheim: The cause of death was external violence
The special “Ramp” commission set up to investigate the death is now hoping for information from witnesses about the whereabouts of the 51-year-old woman and the infant, as well as about unusual observations such as a fire in the area of the so-called NATO ramp.
According to the autopsy report, the 27-year-old died as a result of external violence. Most recently she was said to have been traveling with her mother and her five-week-old daughter. Both had disappeared on Monday evening and were wanted by the police. The mother is considered the most important witness, both in the woman’s death and in the search for the dead woman’s daughter, said a police spokesman.
