High Iosif brings increasingly warm to hot air from the south into the country. Temperatures of up to 34 degrees are expected.

It’s getting very warm again in almost all parts of Germany. The German Weather Service in Offenbach expects “temporarily and locally” hot summer weather. Because Hoch Iosif has spread across Central Europe and is increasingly bringing warm to hot air from the south into the country.

Where does it get hot?

Hoch Iosif provides a high summer feeling, especially in the south-west of the country, says meteorologist Marcel Schmid from the DWD. “Today up to 31 degrees and tomorrow up to 34 degrees are expected there.” But in other parts of the country it is also summery in many places with maximum values between 25 and 30 degrees.

Where is it fresher?

According to the forecasts, it will only not be quite as warm on the coasts. For example, only 19 to 24 degrees are expected there on Wednesday. On Thursday there may also be a few short showers, especially on the coasts and in the western, central and eastern low mountain ranges.

Where could it crash?

According to the meteorologists, there can be thunderstorms in the mountains, some of which can be severe in Bavaria. A “low risk of thunderstorms” is predicted for Friday in the Alps.

And how does it continue?

After the heat is before the heat: The cold front of the North Sea low Anij leads to a temporary cooling. “On Friday and Saturday it will also be tight in the south and southwest with the 30 degree mark before the heat starts again from France, especially at the start of the new week,” says meteorologist Schmid.
