Hit student with hammer – High penalty for craftsmen – Bavaria

The district court of Würzburg has sentenced a craftsman to eleven years in prison for attempting to murder a young woman. The man, who is still classified as dangerous, should be placed in a psychiatric hospital, the chamber decided on Wednesday.

The defendant confessed to attacking the student in Würzburg last May when he was supposed to be repairing a window in the woman’s apartment. The judgment against the German is not yet final (Az: 801 Js 8306/22).

The day before, the public prosecutor’s office had demanded ten years and nine months in prison and placement in a psychiatric ward for attempted murder and dangerous bodily harm. The defense pleaded for six and a half years in prison for dangerous bodily harm. An expert certified that the accused had a narcissistic personality disorder and that the 28-year-old’s ability to control the crime was limited.

The man, who is said to have despised women, hit the then 25-year-old’s head at least twelve times with a hammer. She was critically injured. According to the prosecutor, the man did not carry out a sexual assault on the victim that had been planned.
