Many people know his songs, not everyone knows his name. At the peak of his career, Nosie Katzmann had three international hits in one year. The lyrics of what is probably the most famous song were written in Darmstadt.

The music producer Nosie Katzmann was inspired by a meeting with a woman for his international Eurodance hit “Mr. Vain”. A musician left him a cassette with a melody, the 64-year-old told the German Press Agency.

“And in a café in Darmstadt someone said Woman to me, I don’t look like a musician at all. I told her to call me. She would fall in love with my voice.” The lyrics to “Mr. Vain” was born. The song by the group Culture Beat is about a man who is convinced that women all over the world find him attractive. “Steven Levis’ beat fit like a glove.”

Katzmann, who was born in Lower Franconia, had three international hits in one year in 1993 at the height of his career: “More and More” with Captain Hollywood Project, “Right in the Night” with Jam & Spoon and “Mr. Vain”, the 33 weeks remained in the German charts – including nine weeks at the top. The song also climbed to number one in Great Britain. Katzmann has worked with Scooter, Sarah Connor and DJ BoBo, among others. The Smurfs and SpongeBob SquarePants are also on his proof of work.

“I am a free spirit and love music in its entire spectrum,” said the artist who lives in Battenberg (Palatinate). “You can only develop further if you are open.”
