Two pedestrians were hit by a car in northern Hesse and died. They wanted to cross a federal highway.
As the police announced, three people tried to cross federal highway 253 outside the town near Battenberg (Waldeck-Frankenberg) on Monday evening around 8:25 p.m. Two of the pedestrians were hit by an approaching car.
According to police, they died at the scene of the accident. The third person remained uninjured. Rescue workers and an emergency chaplain were on site in the evening. The B253 initially remained completely closed in both directions. The public prosecutor ordered an expert to examine the scene of the accident.
