Philadelphia Sixers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. was hospitalized Saturday night after being hit by a car while walking, his NBA franchise said, but his condition is not cause for concern, according to medias. His club did not provide further information, but the daily The Philadelphia Inquirer said the 27-year-old’s life was “not in danger”.
According to the same source, he was walking near his home when he was hit by a motor vehicle. The former Washington Wizards player, who was finally able to leave the hospital, should however miss many matches, added this local daily. The vehicle that hit the basketball player fled the scene. Police told the daily they were looking for the suspect.
Kelly Oubre Jr, who has experienced several franchises since his NBA debut in 2015, joined Philadelphia in September from the Charlotte Hornets. He has averaged 16.3 points since the season opened.
