The prosecutor held a press conference on Wednesday to take stock of the investigations. She announced that police custody was extended for a further period of 24 hours and that a judicial investigation could be opened on Thursday morning with the criminal center of Limoges.
“Searches were carried out in the home of the person concerned, as well as in his vehicle,” said the public prosecutor. Technical and scientific police operations were carried out. They made it possible to highlight the presence of traces of blood in the home of the person concerned, in his room, but also in his vehicle, at the level of the gear knob. DNA analyzes to establish the genetic profile that may correspond to these traces of blood. »
“In addition, Justine Vayrac’s handbag, containing personal effects, was discovered charred near the home of the detainee” in Beynat, a village located about twenty kilometers east of Brive, a-t -she adds. On the other hand, she disputed the information according to which the mobile phone of the young woman had been found during the searches.
The search continues Wednesday evening. A search is underway, mobilizing 80 police and gendarmes. A helicopter and a drone equipped with thermal cameras also flew over the area. The investigation, opened for kidnapping and forcible confinement, is continuing.

Justine Vayrac’s mother was worried about not having heard from since Sunday because she maintains “fusional” relations with her daughter who “lives 50 meters from home” her, in Tauriac, in the Lot, about forty kilometers from Brive, she explained. She added that Justine Vayrac no longer lived with the father of her child, who lives in Toulouse, but that things between them were going “well” and that she had custody of the little boy.
According to the search notice issued by the police, the young woman has medium-length and smooth brown hair, light eyes and is 1.65 m tall. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a pastel pink dress and white Converse brand sneakers.
