Somewhere recently I read the sentence that was probably meant as an encouragement: “With children in huts is always an extraordinary family adventure.” That’s absolutely true if you really understand the term adventure in the definitional sense: as a risky venture with an uncertain outcome beyond the comfort zone. Most of the time, an adventure only turns out to be great fun afterwards. In the middle it is: tiring, nerve-wracking, hard; Especially when the children are 15 months and almost four years old.
